About three years ago, Steven & Lisa met online and after hitting it off decided to meet in person. After enjoying dinner and plenty of laughter and conversation they went for our walk and ended up opposite Adelaide Oval on a park bench. They didn’t want the night to end and knew it was the beginning of something special.
On 26 September 2017, Steven popped the big question. He began the day with a romantic champagne buffet breakfast at The Stamford Grand, Glenelg, followed by a short drive to the city where they went for a stroll around Adelaide Oval leading to Lights Lookout overlooking the city. Steven got on bended knee and popped the big question. Lisa said Yes!
With a shared interest in watching the footy & cricket together at the Adelaide Oval, there was no question it was the location of choice for their wedding . Lisa supports Fremantle and Steven is a Port supporter so they enjoy a friendly rivalry. They are also members of the Adelaide Strikers and have a set spot each year and attend all the games. Interestingly their wedding day ended up being the day after the Port vs Fremantle game so even the date was meant to be!!
Excitement was in the air when we met Steven & Lisa bright & early before the sun had even risen for a sneak peek at the Torrens River Rotunda. We then found ‘their park bench’ for some memory snaps, the sun came out gloriously through the trees for a few gorgeous portraits beneath the trees by the Torrens. After a relaxed start we headed off to the Adelaide Oval for their ceremony, it really makes for a stunning backdrop, the architectural background creating something different in our photography, it was great for Shan to be able to sneak up into the stands and in the walkway above to get some different perspectives, one of the times where two photographers makes all the difference, especially when walking back down the aisle to a cascade of bubbles in the air. We found Steven & Lisa’s regular seats for some special photos, had the traditional group photo in front of the scoreboard that Adelaide Oval especially make up with a wedding couples names & date. Reception was followed up within the reception rooms at Adelaide Oval, here our incredibly talented bride’s touch shone through. All beautifully decorated in lemon, Lisa’s loving cross stitches were spread throughout; name tags, table numbers, cards, signage, a unique guest signage of a large framed cross stitch, all of this would have taken an incredible amount of hours. At the ceremony they also had a large wooden heart the two of them ‘cross stitched’ in memory of Steven ending every one of their wedding cross stitches with the last stitch, a very unique touch to their ceremony.
Thank you Steven & Lisa for asking us to share in your special day.
